During his opening monologue, Ramy advocated for the Palestinian people currently under assault by the state of Israel.

At the end of February , it wasestimatedthat the last cost in Gaza had reached 30,000 hoi polloi in retaliatory attacks stemming from the events of Oct. 7 , in which 1,200 Israelis were reportedlykilled — the majority of them civilian — in attack by Hamas . It ’s also assumed that the death toll estimation isincomplete , and has most likely grown significantly since then .

In his monologue, Ramy mentioned how he recently received a call from his friend in Gaza asking him to pray for him and his family. “I’m like, ‘Dude, I got you,'” he said.

“So that night, I go to pray, and my prayers are complicated. I’ve got a lot to fit in."

“I’m like, ‘God, please, please help Ahmed’s family. Please stop the suffering. Stop the violence. Please free the people of Palestine, please. And please free the hostages, all the hostages, please.”

“And while you’re at it, you know, free Mr. Bojangles,” he concluded, referring to an earlier point in the monologue. “He’s a beautiful dog. I’m praying for that dog.”
