I am rightfully sorry to myEvermoregirlies for my bottom song .

Tayor Swift: icon, genius, cat lover, and creator of eleven fantastic original studio albums. (Before you ask, I’m aSpeak Nowgirlie.) She’s written or co-written over 250 songs throughout her long career, and they’re all amazing — but I’ll admit it: I love some of my children more than others.

I’ll be real with y’all….the last time I attempted this ranking, I got thinly veiled death threats and requests that I be fired. So, this time, I decided to do the most objective, in-depth ranking I could, using a ton of different categories rather than just going off vibes alone. It’s also been four years — some of my thoughts have stayed the same, but I’ve completely changed my tune for some songs (ahem, “Cruel Summer”). Here are my categories, which add up to scores out of 100.

Without further ado….here we go!

in reality , one last thing : Do n’t detest me too much for low ratings ! If a song is rat 50 % or 60 % , it does n’t have in mind I do n’t like it — it ’s just the ratings I ’m using for song that are n’t , IMO , absolutely life-time - changing , so I can have way to give varied scores to the song ranked above it . It does n’t mean I think it ’s a 50 % strain in the terrific scheme of the world of medicine .

250.Coming in last…“Closure” fromEvermore: 16%

I ’m good-for-naught to myEvermoregirlies , but I really believe the bad Taylor song is onEvermore . There ’s something about this song that feel grating , like it was rewound and then played back on a tape . And the background scramble kind of sounds like a kid banging on a bunch of passel and pans . I ’ll give it a high emotion score for how biting it is , but that ’s about all I ’ll give this Song dynasty , except maybe a bit for originality . This is the only Taylor Swift strain I will actively skip every individual fourth dimension .

There ’s nothing Taylor does well than a track that utterly decimates someone ’s entire existence , and I think this might be the first one . 8.“The Archer” fromLover:98%

I feel like " The Archer " never bewilder its due credit ! ! ! But these are some of the strongest lyric Taylor has compose , IMO . They ’re dead withering and yet , like " All Too Well , " they ’re so easy to belt out out . This Song dynasty makes me feel feelings I did n’t know I had . It also feels unique amongst some of Taylor ’s other Song , and I call up her voice , emotion , and overall performance are just really strong . And yes , the bridge is just a repeat line for the first one-half , but it works here , and the part it conduct to is just howling .

7.“Death by a Thousand Cuts” fromLover:98%

I finger like people are travel to be surprised at how manyLoversongs I have near the top . I in person thinkLovergoes vastly underappreciated , and I at least partly blame the pandemic and the fact that Taylor was never able to tour for this album . And this is definitely one of the bestLoversongs . I just know an upbeat - sound song that is really withering , and that ’s what this is . And the bridge is incredible .

6.“Haunted” fromSpeak Now:99%

This is the ULTIMATE Taylor Swift angst song . It ’s the closest she gets to stone , and I have always wanted a stone record album from her . It ’s also the only Taylor Swift birdsong where — I ’m so good-for-naught , Taylor ! ! ! —   I still prefer the original . It just capture the raw teenager angst well ! I sense like this will be contentious , but I really can not see a single flaw in this vocal ( except maybeeee that I like there was a act more to the bridge deck —   but it has slap-up intensity ) . I love it . It has such a majuscule border and desperation . I literally ca n’t imagine of a Taylor Swift birdsong that go hard .

5.“My Tears Ricochet” fromFolklore,99%

" AND I CAN GO ANYWHERE I WANT , ANYWHERE I WANT JUST NOT HOME . " Yeah , this bridge is a perfect 20 . In fact , the whole song is a utter … pretty much everything . I guess I ’ll bob a degree on originality because it does n’t finger wildly unlike other things Taylor has done , but really , this Song dynasty is just gross .

4.“Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me?” fromThe Tortured Poets Department: 99%

This is like the sequel to " Anti - Hero , " where she ’s embraced that indistinguishability . My ONLY takings with this song is so ridiculously nit - picky and personal —   I do n’t like the " levitate " word choice . It pull me out of the call because it gives a amusing range of a function of someone levitating . This might be partly because I reckon aSpongebobeditwith Plankton flying and sing this song and I can not for the life of me get it out of my head . I ’m knock off a single lyric breaker point for " levitate , " and if you ’re harebrained about that , you’re able to take it up with Plankton , not me . ( I ’m mostly kidding . This is definitely a top 5 birdcall , but I think the ones ahead of it are even good . )

2.“Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” fromMidnights:99%

I will forever be harebrained that this was on the 3 am edition and not the first version because it ’s not only the bestMidnightssong , it ’s one of Taylor ’s best songs , period . The lyric are devastating , and then it also has this incredible intensity . It ’s flawlessness in every category , except , I opine , originality , since it ’s like to theme in earlier birdsong .
